New Large Classroom
While most of the learning at IslandWood takes place outdoors, this new large classroom will provide larger groups with a comfortable, private space to engage and learn when visiting our campus. This large classroom will hold up to 80 people (current classrooms only hold 30 students). The classroom design supports a multipurpose outcome so that any program or curriculum will work in the space. Because the educational storeroom is located next door to the new classroom, it makes it ideal for props and other special program uses.
The large classroom will be equipped with 80 ergonomic chairs and 8 spacious tables developed from recycled and sustainable materials. Additionally the dry erase boards and wallboards will provide the backdrop for lectures and display the work of visiting students' projects.
Audio/visual resource are essential for group presentations and enabling remote professionals to participate. The meeting space will be equipped with a high resolution LCD Projector, projection screen, VCR and Laptop (which includes a DVD player), Internet connectivity and whiteboards.
