Mini-Naturalist Half-Day Camps: For 4 and 5 year olds, and 6 year olds entering Kindergarten

Mini-naturalist half-day camps are a unique blend of educational activities, group games, and art projects for young explorers. These exciting programs engage children’s inherent sense of wonder and curiosity about the natural world and aim to promote a sense of inquiry that will last for years to come.

Half-Day camps run from 9:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m., or from 1:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m.

Make-a-Mess Art Camp

Make sure you wear some grubby clothes because you will be making a mess each day with art projects big and small. You’ll get to try many types of art, with traditional materials and those found in nature. Have you ever felt paint squishing between your toes or created an edible masterpiece with food picked from the garden? Get ready to experiment and have a ton of fun creating art with new friends and our experienced instructors.

You don’t need a lab coat and crazy hair to be a real scientist-everyone has a little mad professor in them. Join us for a week of exciting experiments, colorful art projects, and wacky games designed to introduce young campers to the magic of science. As a sprouting scientist, you will be asking questions and wanting to know more about the natural world around you for a long time to come.

Get ready for a week of getting your hands dirty in the garden. Explore all things green and growing, from tiny peas to giant trees with our garden educators. What plants make the best paint? How does a cedar grow so huge? What happens to a seed underground? Uncover your inner green thumb in this fun half-day camp.

Discover critters that crawl, leap, and fly through the forest. Investigate animals big and small, search for tree frogs near and far. Sing like a bird as you flap your wings and discover secret animal homes. Each day of this camp will focus on a different creature found in our forest, and you will leave at the end of the week with favorite songs and games all about your new animal friends!

Did you hear that? The trees are talking, sharing the stories of the woods and its inhabitants. See the forest in a whole new way as you search for gnomes and fairy houses, and sweep up miniature pond creatures with new friends and expert instructors. This unique camp introduces you to the legends of the forest through stories, songs, puppetry, and art aplenty!
