School Partnership Curricular Ideas
There are four ways in which the Make a Difference Project can be incorporated into your classroom - depending upon the level of student involvement in determining the project, as well as how much time you can/will afford to the project.
To help, we've organized the materials into four strands - with many overlapping activities. Don't worry about reading all of this material - just refer to the strand you choose to follow with your class.
Students Choose A Project - this strand involves students determining the focus of the project.
Predetermined Project - is the strand for classes where the teacher has determined the content. This will be your choice if you have a project you've been doing for years and want to adapt it to be more integrated with your IslandWood experience.
One Day Project - if you have minimal time and can only afford one day for a community service project.
No Project - if you have no time for a project, yet want to have some activities in your class that help to integrate the IslandWood experience with your classroom experience.
