The IslandWood curriculum involves hands-on investigations of the place, its natural and cultural features, and its connections to the students' home communities.

This is the current Student Journal. This file is set up for online reading or printing out on 8.5 x 11 paper either sigle or double sided. This takes 46 sheets of paper if printing single sided.
Student Journal (Version March 2011) - BOOKLET PRINTING VERSION.pdf
This is the current Student Journal. This file is set up to print out as a booklet: Your printer has to be able to print double sided on 8.5 x 14 inch paper with a left side binding. This takes 23 sheets of paper. It's VERY confusing to look at this electronically or single sided, as the pages jump all over the place.
IW Field Journal Teacher's Guide (ver. 6/25/09)
This is the Teacher's Guide to the previous version of our Student Journal. We have not yet created the Teacher's Guide for the new edition of the Student Journal, but this should give readers good ideas and guidance - most of the pages and ideas are the same - just in different locations.
